Greetings! I hope that you are enjoying the hot summer days and having some fun in the sun! I have been enjoying my first few weeks at RBCS learning a great deal. I have met a variety of parents, students, and community members, all of whom have been extremely welcoming. I look forward to meeting every one of you soon too!
I would like to thank all of those who completed the summer survey. We had a wonderful response, 43%, of our families provided feedback. Of those responses, 90% stated they feel RBCS is a welcoming place with a positive atmosphere. The feedback regarding the positive aspects
and challenges faced have been enlightening as to the importance of our beginning steps together. Overall, the three main positives stated include the family atmosphere with small class sizes, being an integrated diverse community, and the supportive faculty. The three main challenges identified include a need to enhance communication, review behavioral expectations, and the importance of access to curriculum. Finally, 50% stated communication is preferred in all forms of email, text, social media, and phone calls.
I have already been met with the family atmosphere, met many of our diverse community members and interacted with the dedicated and supportive faculty. As for the main challenges presented, we are already in the process of reviewing and updating our website so it will become your main resource for information. Additionally, communication will be sent, with advanced notice, via multiple ways, whenever possible. Behavioral expectations will be reviewed starting in August with our faculty and a collection of our curriculum is being gathered to post on our website for easy review.
Please enjoy the remainder of the summer days ahead. Know that further communication will be coming regarding the start of the school year. If you have any questions at any time, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. My door is always open.
